remembering the exam period of my last year of highschool. id go to the library to study and id buy a drink from boost juice beforehand because there always big and last me the entire study session. additional bit of information, i always have to give a fake name when ordering drinks because everytime i use my real name i get a "huh?". i ended up ordering from this boost juice so often that when i gave the cashier my name she went "oh you come here so often i should remember that by now" and i got so embarassed that i left a lasting impact on a strangers life that i havent been to that boost juice since... i dont even think she works there anymore, whatever shes doing i hope shes okay.
ive been telling this story a lot to people lately so i guess ill immortalise it here. a youtube channel called memeulous made a video where he watched all the alvin and the chipmunks movies and made a drinking game out of it. i loved the alvin and the chipmunks as a kid, loved them so much that my family has the dvds of it in my first language. so i thought "wouldnt it be funny if i made my friends do the exact same thing?" we did end up doing that and i thought "ive never drank before and i trust my buds, im gonna try some alcohol!" i made it through half a can of this vodka soda called -196 and then i felt a sharp pain in the side of my body. i told my friends and they all told me to stop drinking, so i did. i went home feeling gross and then went to bed. i then woke up with the worst cold ever, i was so sick i thought i had covid. i went into the group chat asking "which one of you was sick. which one of you infected me" and all of them were like "nah none of us" strange... why was i feeling this ill? a few days go by, im still sick and my friends start talking to me about alcohol allergies... huh... interesting... i asked my mum "hey are any of us allergic to alcohol?" and she responds "yeah, most of us, we mainly just drink beer and very mixed drinks." and thats the story of how i found out that im allergic to alcohol. fun little extra, one of my friends was curious if it was only vodka that triggered this so he gave me a bit of soju and then yup exact same thing happened. pain in the side of my body, sick the next day. okay bye thats my life story.
i recently redownloaded genshin. i found varka quite charming and i enjoyed how he looked. opened the game, played for an hour or two... genuinely the slowest moment of my life im so serious. the game is so clunky to play on my laptop, the last time i played was on my tablet and i dont remember it being that bad? everything is so like horrifyingly slow, progression, exploration, the stories like literally everything. i understand its supposed to be a long term game you have to sink time into but unfortunately that does not read very well at all since its a gacha. gachas always have rotating events, and the gachas are limited time, despite being a slow game it still feels like you have to rush through it. there is way too much to do. you know that phrase thats like "games, unlimited games, but no games" THAT EXACTLY! unlimited things to do, so unlimited that i just cant pick one and i feel overwhelmed just at the option. the game isnt optimised at all, trying to navigate the ui the buttons the functions literally everything feels like a hassle.
never have i felt so grateful for honkai starrail, ive slandered that game to hell and back as well but holllyyyyy shit playing it right after playing genshin was so refreshing. i could kiss the digital concrete roads of golden hour, i could lay on the plush red couches of the express right next to mr yang himself and cry to him about the torture i just went through. hsr peak, hsr so unbeliveably peak im so sorry for ever slandering you, im sorry for doom posting for the entirety of ampho (except for the irontomb and anaxa sections those were cool), im sorry for everything ive done, i love you honkai starrail, you treat me so good i couldnt ask for more (except for making galladay canon- what who said that? mustve been the wind...) i love turn based combat, i love bright colours and i love characters that are constantly doing something on the screen.
ill enjoy wriolette and varflins in the peace and quiet of my own time rather than genshins times. ill enjoy other peoples fanarts, ill laugh at whatever funny thing comes up on my feeds but i will NEVER open genshin impact again mark my words... im gonna go to the dreamjolt hostelry now which is A REAL BAR and NOT A PLACE IN HSR... gallagher *sniff* make me something to help the pain go away *sniff*
